Ephemera
This ongoing black and white photography series explores the human form through ballet and portraiture. Centered on dancers from Ballet Idaho, the work captures moments both in studio spaces and across the urban landscape of Boise, Idaho.
Using both film and digital photography, the series removes distraction, allowing light, texture, and form to take center stage. It is a study of body and presence, balancing traditional portraiture with intimate, unguarded moments born from close collaboration between dancer and photographer. The work reveals the tension between poised control and spontaneous expression, between the sculptural qualities of the human form and the environments it inhabits.
Rooted in Boise yet open to evolution, this project is a long-term exploration of how ballet and photography intersect, uncovering both the extraordinary and the quietly beautiful within the everyday.
