Interval

Working with dancers from Ballet Idaho, I photograph them both in the studio and throughout the streets and spaces of Boise, Idaho, allowing their movement and presence to exist beyond the stage.

The work strips away excess so that light, texture, and form can speak for themselves. At its heart, this project is about being present—about noticing how the body carries emotion, discipline, and vulnerability all at once. Rather than polished performances, the photographs live in the space between posed portraiture and the quieter, unguarded moments that come from trust and shared time between dancer and photographer.

While the project is rooted in Boise, it’s meant to stay open and evolving, continuing to explore where ballet and photography meet and how moments of beauty, both striking and subtle, can surface in the most ordinary surroundings.
